About Titan - Our History
Titan was formed in 1984 by Tony Hanley & Richard Kinch, both with a fires systems industry background and the shared objective of being “better than the benchmark”.
Both were committed to making Titan known for outstanding client contact and service; a commitment that still holds after 26 years.
In 2004 Richard retired leaving Tony with full ownership and a drive to grow Titan even further by expanding the range of services offered.
Today, Titan employs around 45-50 full time staff directly, and enjoys strong, long term relationships with a range of blue chip clients, and a reputable supply chain protecting hundreds of thousands of people, and many billions of pounds worth of assets.
Tony, as committed as he was in 1984 believes that “the abolition of the Fire Precautions Act, and introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order in 2005, has meant that we have to raise our game even higher to ensure our clients understood the implications of accountability and actions required of them by legislation” Tony maintains ‘ that the impact of this legislation has not been fully absorbed or understood by those responsible for Fire Safety” “ I believe that every member of staff at Titan has to be laser focused in guiding our clients through compliance, making their premises safer from the threat of fire”
Tony further commented “My job is to make sure we hire, train and develop only the best in our drive to deliver only the best to our clients. I want Titan to be an employer, as well as a supplier, of choice in our Industry.
Tony is a well know speaker in his area- with one simple message “that no matter how sophisticated or reliable fire system technology and products become, they are useless, if they end up in the wrong hands. After his years in the Industry Tony has a wealth of horrifying war stories to lend credibility to his claim that only design, installation and servicing by experts can deliver the safety levels he craves. Tony and his team are driven by their shared belief that ‘ There are No Shortcuts to Safety” and that ‘Safety is an Absolute”
“I’m proud of what we’ve created here at Titan” says Tony. “A company with history, values and principles. I don’t believe in ‘benchmarking’ any more instead now I like to think that Titan is setting a standard to which others have to aspire”
